PENAPH Second Technical Workshop Proposed

We are working on organizing a Second Technical Workshop with the theme of Participatory Approaches in One Health. At the moment, the proposed date is March 1 to 3, 2016. The location will again be in South East Asia due to funding sources. Participants at the First Technical Workshop suggested the event should be held every 2 to 3 years, so we are on schedule!. If you want to have early input into how we organize the Second Technical Workshop, send comments to the blog.

  1. Great to hear about inception of the second….! During the first technical workshop in Thailand there were groups formed to fill gaps in PE (I hope Jeff has the list and addresses). I remember I was in the group ”How to develop or adopt statistical tools to PE to proof validity and make scientifically sound. So , this could be a point to start with…I will be back with some more idea later.

    • Thanks. We can follow up on this tread in the next workshop. More should be posted on the website in the coming weeks.

      Regards,

      Jeff

    • We are still in the process of making arrangements and when we release the first formal announcement, it will describe the process for registering. Thanks for your interest!

    • Dear Shumaila,

Thanks for your message. We will be advancing the arrangements for the conference over the next couple of weeks and will post more information.

      Regards,

      Jeff

  2. THIS WORKSHOP IS A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE EXPERIENCES AMONG PROFESSIONALS FROM DIFFERENT CORNERS OF THE WORLD. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY IF YOU ALLOW ME TO JOIN THIS GROUP: @JEFF MARINER

    • We are working on this and have good funding opportunities. I think we will not be ready by March though. I will have to make an update. We are probably looking at the end of 2016.

  3. I am excited to hear about the second technical workshop and wish to attend.
Post graduate students in my country are already applying PE in their research and I hope in the nearest future, PE will be incorporated into the academic curricula and also in the national epidemio-surveillance network.

    • We would still like to organize a second conference, but the period may need to be revised to give people enough time to prepare for attendance.
