Call for abstracts

Abstracts are warmly invited for both oral and poster presentations at the 2018 PENAPH Technical Conference.

Topics of interest to the conference are: participatory experiences with, and applications of participatory methods to investigating complex problems in animal, human and environmental health; applications in animal health that enhance food security and participant well-being; applications focusing on integrated approaches at the human/environment/animal interface:

• Epidemiological and disease ecology research
• Health and biodiversity
• Disease and intervention impact
• One Health/EcoHealth interventions
• Building partnerships in One Health/EcoHealth
• Education and training in One Health/EcoHealth
• Surveillance and program design
• Socio-economics, social entrepreneurship and health-related issues
• Epidemiological targeting of disease control programs (peste des petits ruminants and others)

The deadline for submission of abstracts is July 1 2017. All abstracts must use the abstract template available for download from the Second Conference page of this site and should not exceed 3,000 characters. They will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the PENAPH Technical Conference. All authors will be informed by the 15th of Sept 2017 if their submission has been selected as an oral or poster presentation at the PENAPH Technical Conference. The presenting author must register for the Conference by 30th October 2017.

Call for discussion forums

PENAPH is seeking proposals for discussion sessions at the 2018 Technical Conference. The discussions are intended to provide opportunities for conference participants to better understand the theory and practical applications of participatory epidemiology (PE), to gain new knowledge and insight about PE, and to interact with other PE practitioners from around the world.

If you would like to suggest a discussion topic for the conference organizers to consider, please make a comment on the Second Conference page of the PENAPH website. The suggestion should include a clear question and a short background statement to provide context for the question. If possible it would be helpful to provide 1-2 key learning objectives for the discussion and suggestions for a facilitator who will be able to help frame the discussion.

All facilitators and discussion participants must register for the conference. Final selection of the discussion topics will be done by the Technical Conference Scientific Committee.
