The following recommendations for certification are currently under review and discussion is welcome (Join the PENAPH community).
Requirements for certification as a PE Practitioner:
- Formally trained professionals (medical background is preferred)
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
- Candidates become PE practitioners after completion of the following:
- PE Introductory course (10 days)
- Field work in PE (minimum of 20 days in the field prior to refresher course)
- Field visit by PE mentor/trainer of the course
- PE Refresher course and presentation of field reports and study findings
Requirements for certification as a PE Trainer:
- PE practitioner
- Candidates become PE trainers after completion of the following:
- PE Training of Trainers course (6 days)
- Conduct a PE Introductory course mentored by a Master trainer
Requirements for certification as a Master PE Trainer:
- PE Trainer
- Advanced training and mentoring skills
- Completion of Training of Master PE Trainers course (TOMPET)
- Experience as mentor or coach for PE Trainers during PE training course
- Candidates are generally selected by other PE Trainers
